Peppermint Mocha Iced Tea Recipe

In NYC, it is SO hot!  I swear that I could fry an egg on the pavement.  The only good thing about NYC summers is that the streets are mostly empty because the 'Hamptons set' have left for their summer homes and left wild NYC streets to us locals!

This summer my new obsession is our Peppermint Mocha Iced Tea.  We make this cool drink using our deliciously decadent Chocolate Guilt black tea.  This refreshing drink is loaded with rich black tea, sweet peppermint, chocolatey goodness and creamy sweet cream (I totally use sweetened condensed milk).  I loved it so much that I'm sharing the recipe with you!

Also - Enjoy 10% off Chocolate Guilt for the month of July!

Yield: Serves 4-6  Total Time: 1 hour

Chocolate Guilt Mix Ingredients:

Peppermint Mocha Assembly:

  • Pre-made Chocolate Guilt tea mix (see below)
  • half and half (some folks also use coconut milk, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk)
  • ice

Chocolate Guilt Mix Directions

  1. Bring water to boil and add Chocolate Guilt. Add sugar and gently stir to completely dissolve sugar. Gently boil tea for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Allow tea to steep for at least 30 minutes and allow it to cool. The more concentrated the tea flavor, the better the tea tastes.
  3. Strain the tea leaves. Set finished tea aside to cool.
  4. You can make this ahead of time and have the chocolate guilt tea chilling in the fridge.

Assembly Directions

  1. Fill glasses with ice.
  2. Fill glass with about 3/4 full of the Chocolate Guilt tea mix. Then top off remainder of glass with half and half.
  3. Stir and enjoy.

Tea 101: Best Teas For Detoxing and Wellness

By Jennifer Jackson on June 19, 2014   /   detoxing healthy tea 101 wellness white tea    /   1 Comment

Today, we are going to talk about the best teas for detoxing!  We all need a little spring 'cleaning' of our bodies and minds. The warm weather is here so goodbye arm camouflaging cardigans....hello sheer sleeveless dresses!

White Teas - Best Teas For Detoxing and Wellness!

White tea is green tea's healthier little sister!  White tea is named after the tiny white and silver hairs at tip of each plant shoot.  White teas can be found in China,  Japan, the Himalyas and as far away as Kenya!

These lightly processed teas are made from the unopened tea bud.  Once plucked, these brand new baby tea buds are carefully gathered, lightly steamed (or not at all), shaped by hand and dried.

White teas have such minimal processing, they retain most of their beneficial antioxidants.  They are the HEALTHIEST and MOST DETOXIFYING teas of all types of tea.  Here are some additional white tea healthy benefits:

  • High in antioxidants that boost the immune system
  • Improves brain function
  • Prevents diseases like cancer and heart disease
  • Very little caffeine

When brewed, they give a light, very pale, champagne-colored liquor that has a very light, soft, sweet and velvety flavor.  I think they taste like a delicious dream or like the clouds.

Looking for a healthy tea for increased wellness?  Try one of our 3 delicious hand-blended white teas:

White Cherry Rose - Young tea leaves blended with cherry blossoms and rose petals.

Sweet Nothing - Baby tea leaves with a hint of lemony sweetness.

Apricot White - A delicate white tea with sweet peaches and rich apricot pieces.

You won't be disappointed and your body will thank you!
